Shark Steam Cleaner

I finally got a Shark Steam Cleaner to do my floors.  One of the reasons I wanted this particular type of steam cleaner because it was easier, or so it appeared, to steam clean my tile in the kitchen and bathroom but also for my wood floors.  I have a round rug, which was somewhat expensive so caring for it means a lot to me and the Shark Steam Cleaner freshens up the rug and helps eliminate little nasties like dust mites and such.  I have four cats, so you can understand what I mean. I can also now steam the rugs, the bedding and around my kitchen and bathroom sinks.

The Shark Steam Cleaner slid gently over my tile floor.  My grandson, the little guy Rialey, actually used the Shark Steamer to clean the kitchen.  He did the entire floor and it was so clean.  He couldn't wait to do the living room wood floor.

The three settings on the Shark Steam cleaner has a small dust like steam, the mop steam was great for somewhat heavier cleaning but the scrub steam setting did the best for really deeper cleaning.

Some of why I like it so much is because of the handle, it is easier to use and it helps you flip the rectangle micro-steam cloth over to the other side to use.  What a great invention!  It doesn't leave my floor wet like my other Steam Cleaner did.  The floor was very hot, which is heated to about 400 degrees to kill germs and dust mites.

The Shark Steam Cleaner is high enough so you don't have to bend over.  The triangle mop cloth cleaner makes it easier to clean in and around the toilet.  I just love it!  I am so glad I finally tracked it down and able to use it.  My health is far from what it should be and I aged too much since my breast cancer 9 years ago, so having a product that will make my work easier is really appreciated and greatly needed.  I don't have a maid, instead I have a 3 story house that needs lots of work.

The Shark Steam Cleaner heats up within moments, wow, I was amazed!  This factor alone makes it so much easier to use.  This is a Euro-pro product and I can honestly say, a great one.
This is my story, thanks for listening.

Helping Families in Attawapiskat

Please Note:  Red Cross has announced it has sufficient funds and materials for these families.

We can all help to make a difference in this community by helping to ensure the people have what they need for a warm, safe living environment. No community should live this way. We have other Aboriginal communities that live in just as poor conditions as our Attawapiskat community, both here in Canada and in the United States. Our countries shouldn't have this type of poverty. We should be ashamed of ourselves if we don't step up to do something about this. We really need to dig in and begin our human kindness and helping hand. They need us and we need to call to action. Please, help where and how you can. Thank you.

Helping Families in Attawapiskat

Presently in Attawapiskat there are five families living in tents; 19 families living in sheds without running water; 35 families living in houses needing serious repair; 128 families living in houses condemned from black mould and failing infrastructure; 118 families living with relatives (often 20 people in a small home); there are 90 people living in a construction trailer. There's a need for 268 houses just to deal with the immediate backlog of homelessness.

Meanwhile temperatures have dropped 20 degrees and will likely drop another 20 or 25 degrees further in the coming weeks. For families living in uninsulated tents, makeshift cabins and sheds, the worsening weather poses serious risk.

The following items are needed:

Sleep Bamboo Sleep Sets

UPDATE JULY 16, 2012

I had to write how I felt about my bamboo sheets after a year and a half.  The coldness is now out of them, so when I slip under the sheets, I don't feel a cold, clammy feeling.  Instead I feel the softest sheets I have ever felt!

They are so soft to the touch, that I can't believe it!  I slide my feet and legs around the sheets to feel the luxury of the bamboo.  Who ever knew that bamboo would make sheets like this, but it's true.   As I lay my head on the pillows, the bamboo pillow cases allow me to feel the softness on my entire body, especially my face.  I hug and hug them.  Sometimes, I just lift them to allow them to fall, billowy back against my body.

These sheets are even more soft and luxurious then Egyptian sheets (to me).  I am so happy that I was given the opportunity to try out these sheets and write a review.  I stand by my review and would encourage who is looking into the value of buying the sheets, that they are worth it.

Their bamboo soap is really nice as well.  There is no scent to abuse the nose or roughness to scrape the skin.  I enjoyed using both my black and white soaps.  They were excellent for my psoriasis.

Sleep Bamboo products are really great!
-------------------------------------------------------------------

I received my double sheet set for review near the first of December 2010. I was pleasantly surprised to see the set was white and the package also contained two soaps, one white and one black.

The first thing I did was to gently open the sheet set, almost as if they were made of fragile material, but I think it was more in "awe". I touched the sheets with my fingers then slowly rolled them across my hands. The touch was light but the texture was something I have never felt before! As I drew the sheet set out of their package, I held them up to the light, I felt the softness of the material and the lightness the sheets felt on my skin. There was a sheen glow on the sheets and they smelled lightly of freshness.

I carried them to my bedroom to put them on my bed. As I opened the package all the way to expose the entire sheet set, I couldn't believe my eyes! It's hard to explain, but I've never seen sheets so shiny and smooth. I have been looking for Egyptian cotton sheets for a long time and purchased a set about 3 months back and they didn't hold a candle to the Bamboo sheet set.

I tucked and straightened out the Bamboo sheets on my bed then I slowly put the pillow cases on my pillows. I was surprised to find the pillow cases much larger than ordinary pillow cases. They fit my large pillows to a T. After the bed was all set up, I decided to take a nice bath before I climbed in between my new sheets. I used the Bamboo soaps they sent me as well. The rich lather of the soaps was the softest I've ever used. The lather was so soft! The soap had a particular slight smell to it that would later remind me of woods or greens. This was not offensive to my smell as I am a person with a scent sensitivity. It was just a slight pleasant soapy smell.

I have a skin condition and the Bamboo soaps have made an difference. My skin is much softer, the condition I have is not as evident when I use the soap. I am now using it on my kids to see how they react to it and they like it.

After a nice bath, with rich, soft soap, I climbed into my bed. The anticipation was overpowering and I went to bed early. I pulled back the covers, looked at the way the sheets and pillow cases gleamed on my bed and climbed in. My first reaction was feeling the coldness of the sheets, after all it is winter here. But I have to say within moments - not minutes, but moments, the sheets were so warm and cozy. I couldn't believe it! It felt like I had been in bed for a long time to get them this warm. Once the initial feeling of the sheets set in, I began to explore how my feet and hands felt against the Bamboo material sheets. It was awesome! I have never felt anything so soft, rich and smooth in my life! I found my dream sheets finally. Throughout the entire night and many more after, I still run my feet, hands and body over the sheets, just enjoying the feel of the sheets and happy that I found sheets that I truly love to sleep in. As my head lay on the pillow, the softness of the material on my face was so nice. I couldn't believe my luck for being so lucky to try out and review such a fantastic product.

I can honestly say, that when it was time to take our cruise to Europe, I wanted to bring my sheets with me, but I didn't. They were the one thing I missed from home. They were also the one thing I couldn't wait to climb in to when we returned home very early Christmas morning. While we were on vacation, both my sister and her granddaughter sleep in my bed and tried out the sheets and they reacted the same as I did. The sheets were cool at first but moments later the warmth filled the bed. They loved the feel, the softness and the luxury of these incredible sheets!

Today, I am enjoying my Bamboo sheet set as if I just received them. I did learn that as you wash the sheets, the coldness of the sheen goes away so you won't get those moments of cold when you climb in your bed. Folks, it is a product that is well worth purchasing. You won't be sorry and it is a true eco investment for your future sleep and health. I honestly love these sheets.

I wish you all will take the opportunity to purchase a set of Bamboo Sleep Sheets and enjoy a lifetime of restful sleep in true luxury and comfort.

Thank you for reading my review of Sleep Bamboo Sheet Sets. Pictures of the sheets and soap will follow at a later date.

Children with ADHD & ODD

One of the most difficult things I've done in my life, and I had many, is bringing up a grandson with severe ADHD, ODD, possible autism and more. He is so normal in many ways, people forget he does have many challenges. I survived severe breast cancer which almost took me twice but I'm here, 9 years later. It has taken that long for me and my body to feel "normal" if that can happen after such an ordeal. Thank God my Canada's public health care system.

It is so hard at times to keep up with the changing temperament, emotions and outburst. Sometimes I ask myself if I can really do this and the answer comes back, you have to. I must admit, he does keep me going, gives me many reasons for loving life and wanting to do more with it.

Even though his disabilities deeply challenge me while we are on vacations, he makes the vacation all them more enjoyable. I even love it when he sister is with us because she is so much older than he and she helps me a lot.

Tonight she discussed with me the idea of moving out in about 1 to 1 1/2 years. Gosh teenagers, they say they should run away from home while they still know everything. I know, been there, done that!!! I think she should stay home while going to community college so she can save a lot of money to pay off her school costs. She thinks she can work, have her own "shared" apartment and still live comfortably like she did at home. I have a while yet before she does decide to move out. She is a great help with the little guy.

Speaking of the little guy, we can't find his little tiny blue teddy (no ears) who looks like a blue cat. The cruise ship couldn't find it so I wonder if we left it on the plane or at the Newark airport. Anyway, he hasn't realized it's gone yet. Let's keep the fingers crossed.

Nite for now and let's pray for our Egyptians friends that they may win freedom and true democracy.

My Wonderful Christmas!!

It was an amazing Christmas! Both kids were home for Christmas, they were excited. They actually played together and I even joined in to play poker. Rialey started playing this with kids in his program. We had a good time. The tree looked so pretty. The fireplace was all decorated with a Christmas Wreath above and lights were strewn across the mantle. We are so blessed with so much. Each day I remember to say a prayer for our richness, of life, love health and a means of living a reasonable life.

The house looked so homey, with tree trimmings, warm fire and the wealth of love surrounding our home. Rialey received a letter from Santa on Friday and he was so excited! Now this made two contacts from Santa, one was the Santa video message. He asked to go to sleep early. After a hot bath, he was ready to rumble in bed. I left the light on so he wouldn't get frightened. Later, he asked me to turn it off as long as I stayed up stairs. He is afraid of the dark, much like I was when I was little. Funny how we never forget something like being afraid of the dark. With his little eyes heavy with sleep, he kissed me one more time and soon he was sound asleep.

Layla was downstairs putting presents under the tree while talking on her phone. I don't know how they do it, but hey, she's a teenagers and they seem to be able to do just about anything. She dyed her hair a lighter blue, which still matches her work uniform. I call her my little smurfette. I was so happy she was home for Christmas. I really miss her living with us. She's only 17 and she should be home instead of having to worrying about rent, food etc. Later that evening, she hugged me so tight, just like she used to many years ago. She kept this up for a while then gave me a little neck and back rub. I hugged her again so much. I love this little girl so much. She didn't know that an i-Pod touch was under the tree. That secret would be discovered tomorrow on Christmas.

I stayed up late, wrapping gifts and finally went to bed in Rialey's bed, while the two kids slept in my bed. I couldn't sleep very well because I was too excited about the kids waking up to open their presents. The morning didn't disappoint me. Rialey and Layla were ripping presents open and one by one, their surprised looked said it all - WOW. Layla opened up lots of presents for her kitchen and she commented," well, I guess that's what you get when you grow up". I said yep! As she got more and more into her presents, she started getting games and a new DS with a Zelda game and a PAC Man game. She wanted a DS so bad. But when she opened her i-Pod Touch, her face lite up like a light bulb.

Rialey got a video car and a secret agent video watch and two helicopters that are remote controlled and they work! His favourite toy of all was Pig Goes Pop! We played that most of the day. For some reason, the belly of the pig getting fatter as you feed it burgers was so fun for him. I am so pleased he sent Santa that letter last Sunday asking for Pig goes Pop.

The Sunday dinner turkey was started before we went to church. The kids were great and I was so proud of them wanting to go to church with me on this Blessed day. After we came home, Layla took the car to her friend Lilly's house. They both Layla and Lilly came back for Christmas dinner. My daughter and her spouse came over as well. My nephew, Howie, who lives in the US, called and was very sad and lonely this Christmas. He said it was his first Christmas alone. My ex came over as well and enjoyed opening presents the kids got him and they opening presents from him.

The dinner was wonderful and delicious. I forgot to put out the cranberry sauce but it was delicious anyway. I also forgot to offer anyone apple pie but Rialey made up for that loss later. He loves apple pie for sure. Layla borrowed my car and drove to Truro, to see her father. Lilly and Rialey went with her. I called later and they were enjoying another Christmas with presents. WOW kids from single parents can really clean up at holidays. After saying our good nights, I hung up and called my nephew.

Howie wants to go to Helsinki to see a love of his. His problem is that work is scarce and he isn't working as much as he needs. I wish I had an answer for him but I told him to pray for a way. It always helps me and it works too. I will see what types of cheap travel fares I can come up with for him. Maybe there's a miracle out there for him.

I finished the night watching the Nativity and it was awesome! I then watched The Gospel of John. I love Christmas and the meaning it brings to us, as it was meant to be.Thanks for sharing my Christmas day. I hope your day was great for you as well. Remember, to give and share with others for that might one day be returned to you.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Debbie and family.
